How to set up your practice for success!

  • Choose a time when both parent and child have the most energy; alternate for unusual days.
  • Location, location, location! Try to practice away from the traffic patterns of your home and from loud distractions (TV, telephone).
  • Make it a policy not to take phone calls during practice time, except for emergencies.
  • Make sure the room has enough light.
  • Have a snack in needed - for brain power!
  • Be as consistent as possible in your routine.
  • Quality not quantity is the goal. 15 minutes every day is better than 45 twice a week. (Assuming you could do 45 minutes! But you get the idea!)

Don't forget to have fun and smile!

While your stuck in the house for the bad weather, here are some fun ways to keep your review fun:

Write the names of the songs on cards:

Put them in a jar and pick

Categorize songs on different colored cards-by tempo, key, style

            Create stories for songs

Fan cards and pick at random

Have Fun!
