Where can I rent/buy a violin and supplies?

A parent and beginning student may attend the first lesson without the violin.  This way

given at the first lesson.

Supplies can be obtained from the companies listed on the
Important Links page.

included in the price of the lessons.
Can we start lessons midyear?

Yes!  New students may begin at anytime during the school year.
Should we/I buy a violin?           Please Read this carefully.

We do not recommend buying a violin without a professional second opinion ever!
We prefer rentals for young students because a capable violin shop can assist with
repairs and also use your investment for a down payment for a new instrument
someday.

Buying an inexpensive violin to avoid rental costs may seem like the most cost
effective thing to do, but think about this:  You are investing good money in private
lessons.  Buying an inexpensive, inadequate violin severely limits the potential you or
your student can get from those lessons.

For adults, the same applies.  Please bring anything you are interested in buying to us
BEFORE you buy it.  Instruments can be a considerable investment.  We can help
make the right choice not only to own sake but also for resale in the future.

I reserve the right to object to a violin that I deem inappropriate for productive violin
studies.
What is your cancellation policy?

One lesson cancellation will be allowed per half year that will not carry over.  24 hours
notice is appreciated but known to not always be possible. Makeups will be given at a
mutual agreed time.  Missed makeup lessons cannot be made up.
Do you have a helpful reading list for parents?
I highly recommend:
